How to Celebrate Your Wins (Big and Small)
When was the last time you paused to celebrate yourself?
Not in a big, performative way—but a quiet, genuine moment of pride.
“I did that. I’m proud of me.”
If you’re anything like the women I work with, chances are - it’s been a while.
Why We Brush Off Our Wins
In my coaching work, I’ve seen so many women make powerful shifts:
Saying no for the first time
Putting boundaries in place
Choosing rest over perfection
Taking a brave next step in their work or life
And yet, when they share those wins with me, it often comes with a disclaimer:
“But it’s not a big deal.”
“It was just something small.”
“I should be doing more.”
We downplay our growth. We skip over our own progress.
And the truth is - that pattern robs us of our joy, our self-trust, and our motivation.
Here’s why celebrating yourself matters:
✨ It reinforces your progress
When you acknowledge a win—big or small—you send a clear message to yourself:
What I did mattered.
That moment of recognition helps you build momentum and clarity.
✨ It challenges the belief that you always have to be doing more
Celebration creates a pause. It interrupts the constant drive to keep pushing.
It reminds you that who you are—and what you’ve already done—is enough.
✨ It reconnects you with joy
There’s power in simply letting yourself feel good about something.
You don’t need permission. You don’t have to wait for a milestone.
You get to feel proud now.
Try This:
Take five minutes this week to name one thing you’re proud of yourself for.
It might be:
Something you did
A way you showed up
Something you consciously chose not to do
A boundary you held
A moment of stillness you created
Then take it one step further: celebrate it.
Share it with someone. Write it down. Speak it out loud.
Even a small gesture of acknowledgment can make a big impact.
You Deserve to Be Proud
You don’t need to earn your own approval.
You don’t need to wait until it’s “big enough.”
And you definitely don’t need to feel awkward - or like you’re showing off - for honouring your own progress.
So let’s stop brushing it off.
Let’s start celebrating it.
I’d love to hear - what’s one thing you’re celebrating this week?
Pop it in the comments or share it with someone you trust.
You deserve to feel proud.
